Clifford Holiday Boutique: Saturday, December 8th

Clifford’s PTO will be holding its 3rd annual Holiday Boutique on Saturday, December 8, 2012, from 10AM to 4PM in the MUB/gym.

We are now accepting vendor applications. Table fees are $25 per table for home crafters and $50 per table for all others ($75 for two tables, if space permits). If you are interested, please contact Barbara Nyland at bfnyland@gmail.com.

Please feel free to copy the link from this web page, and forward the URL to any vendors you know that would be interested in participating. Thank you!

On the volunteer front, we’re going to need lots of parents to lend a hand! To sign up (and see details about tasks), visit SignUpGenius.

Specifically, here’s where we need help:

1.  Post flyers at businesses around town (maybe 25 flyers per person)

2.  Solicit contributions of services or items for the raffle

3. Provide baked goods for the bake sale

4. Manage & oversee PTO tables at the event

5. Assist with setup

6. Assist with clean-up

7. Provide receipts to donors

Time slots: Bake Sale Table (most likely 3 shifts: 10 -12; 12 -2; and 2 -4PM)

Clifford Wear Table (most likely 3 shifts: 10 -12; 12 -2; and 2 -4PM)

Additionally, to sign up as a volunteer, contact Barbara Nyland at bfnyland@gmail.com.

Thank you!

Come to the November PTO Meeting: Thurs, 11/8

Head on over to the MUB/gym at Clifford from 7PM to 8PM. Enjoy a light meal while finding out––and speaking up––about all the pertinent happenings at our school right now. For starters, we will be discussing and voting on the Bylaws.

Your children are very welcome to come, but you need to know that childcare is not available. A Spanish speaker, who can translate on the fly, will be standing by for those who would like a translation of what’s being discussed at the meeting.

To see the agenda ahead of time, in English and Spanish, download this file.

See you there at 7PM!

Now Showing: Clifford’s Art in Action Around Town

Art in Action hosts art shows at local libraries, and our school is participating. You can view Clifford’s students’ masterpieces at the main branch in downtown Redwood City. Come support our students and the wonderful Art in Action program by visiting the children’s section of the library!

We also have artwork on display at Peet’s on Laurel Street in San Carlos.  Pop in, grab a drink, and thank them for hosting our kids’ artwork!

If you want to get involved–by helping out in class, for example, or securing venues where artwork can be displayed, or assist in hanging the artwork–please contact:

Willy Wonka Junior: Sign Up for School Play Auditions!

Be a part of Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir for his chocolate factory. Willy Wonka stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whoever finds these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory–or suffer the consequences!

Note: Our school play, Willy Wonka Junior, is produced by the PTO. All parents will be required to complete volunteer hours. The performances will be held February 22, 23rd, and 24th, 2013.
