Congratulations again to Willy Wonka’s main cast, ensemble, and cast families for a terrific show! In case you missed some of the articles and online links highlighting our school play, you’ll find them listed below.
Finally, while we’re on the topic of media coverage, in case you didn’t catch the CBS news segment in 2012, which focused on physical education at Clifford, view the clip here. You can enjoy hearing our very own students talking on camera, along with others, including our former principal, Mr. Phil Lind!

Teacher time (Clifford teachers offer special time with students: lunch, movie, Wii dance party)
Premier adventures (helicopter tour, skydiving, bungee, zipline, swim with dolphins)
Themed Baskets (Gardening, Fishing, Games)

Items will be raffled in a “tiered raffle” based on value. (Details to come!) All donations are tax deductible. Clifford’s PTO is classified as 501(c)(3). Organization Tax ID #94-2975493.

The PTO needs to have a special meeting to vote specifically on increasing the budget for our upcoming Clifford PTO auction. Our auction is the largest PTO fundraising event, and it will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013, from 5PM to 9:30PM.
We propose to increase the budget from $2,500 to $6,000 to cover up-front costs for this year’s 70s Groove & Auction.
Special meeting: Thursday, Feb 14, 8:20AM (right after drop-off), in the PTO office.
Don Dias (Director of Facilities for the Redwood City School District) will be speaking about how to improve traffic at Clifford. We will be voting on the Frog Pond Project and talking about great ways to promote Willy Wonka Jr. Those who have 5th Graders may be interested in hearing about the fundraiser to help defer the cost of Outdoor Ed. And terrific news: The Multicultural Festival is back on the calendar!
A light dinner will be served. Kids are welcome, but be aware that there is no childcare on site.
Whether you’re blessed––or cursed––with a sweet tooth, you’ll love your sugary ride into Wonka’s world. Enjoy a fabulous family night out (or matinée) watching Clifford’s students in Willy Wonka Junior, Feb 22-24, in San Carlos.
Show Times:
Friday, Feb 22, 7PM
Saturday, Feb 23, 7PM
Sunday, Feb 24, 1PM
Tickets are available now in the school office. $10 per person for general seating; $15 reserved. The office staff have the forms you need.
Alternatively, you can go online to purchase––and your tix will be waiting at the door for you before the show!
Performances:
Mustang Hall, Central Middle School, 828 Chestnut Street, San Carlos
For additional details about Willy Wonka Junior and the San Carlos Children’s Theater, visit the SCCT web site.
Note that reserved seating will be assigned according to the date of purchase, and will not be available the day of the performance. (Tickets are $12 at the door.) Children under 2 years do not need a ticket unless they require an individual seat.
Cast families: By now, we hope that you have turned in your ticket order form and payment. If you haven’t––and you want to buy reserved seats––remember that the sooner you order them, the “better” your seats!
Produced by the PTO, the new 2012/2013 Clifford School Directory is available. If you already donated $$ to the PTO, you automatically get one––and you will receive a directory from your child (via folders).
You can also purchase a directory for $4 from 8AM to 9AM, week days, outside the school office.
Welcome The Melt, a new family-friendly restaurant in Redwood City.
Come on over to this new restaurant downtown on Sunday December 9, 2012, from 11AM to 5PM, for an excellent opportunity to help our school children.
Location: 835 Middlefield Road (next to Century Theatre) in Redwood City.
Order some yummy food at The Melt during this time, which is a fundraiser for the Redwood City Education Foundation. This is a fun, easy, and delicious way to help our kids, as 100 percent of the proceeds go to the RCEF. In addition to sandwiches, The Melt also offers other items, including fruit and chocolate s’mores!
