Friday, March 31 students and staff will participate in the Lap-a-thon to promote health, fitness and an active lifestyle. Donations will support our Physical Education (PE) programs and other PTO funded programs like technology, art in action, field trips, marine science, class supplies, and community events!

After school, from 2:40-4:40, we will be celebrating with a carnival!!! Join us right after school and bring your family to join in on the fun. Carnival tickets will be earned through participation in the Lap-A-Thon as well as raising donations. Tickets will be available to purchase during the carnival.

This year we’re seeking flat donations rather than pledges for numbers of laps run. Donations are due Friday, March 24 (a week before the event) to determine number of carnival tickets earned, in advance of the carnival. Of course we will still accept donations after the 24th, although it won’t be guaranteed that you will have your tickets in hand prior to the start of the carnival. Students are encouraged to have a lap goal and foster friendly competition with friends and classmates.

Schedule:
Lap-a- Thon, 8:30-12:30 on upper track

Carnival, 2:40-4:40 on blacktop

Lap-A-Thon Time: “Fun in the Sun” on May 8

HappySunMark your calendars for this year’s LAP-A-THON fundraiser: it’s the FUN IN THE SUN RUN, and it’s happening during the school day on Friday, May 8, 2015.

Fitness, prizes, and fun await!

WHAT’S THIS EVENT ALL ABOUT?

Our students run laps on Clifford’s upper track and they invite family members, friends, neighbors (and so on) to give $$ pledges for every lap they complete.

One class from Kindergarten through 5th grade — and one Middle School homeroom class — with the highest rate of participation will win an ice cream party! Top fundraisers will also be eligible for fantastic prizes, including gift cards at some of your favorite local spots (see list below).

Parents, we need your participation to make the Lap-a-thon a success! Sign up to volunteer on May 8th — or in the weeks leading up to our wonderful fundraising event. To volunteer for one or more different slots, go to the signup page.

RAFFLE PRIZES INCLUDE GIFT CARDS FOR:

  • Rockin’ Jump
  • Jamba Juice
  • Pizza My Heart
  • Sakura 2
  • Peninsula Beauty

If you have questions or need additional information, contact Clifford parent Kathryn Snow using this form on the signup page.

Note: All the money raised goes directly into our PTO-sponsored PE program, which would not be possible without these funds.

Dash for Cash: Lap-a-thon 2014 is Today!

lapathonMay 2nd, Friday: It’s our annual Lap-a-thon FUNraiser, DASH FOR CA$H. The students start their laps, class by class, at 8:30AM, and things wrap up at roughly 2:20PM. Scroll down towards the end of this posting for the complete schedule!

Click here for the Pledge Form.

Note: Printed copies are also available in the school office (on the flyer display case, near the door).

This year, we want to highlight that May is “National Physical Fitness and Sports Month” – an opportune time to get our K-8 students to dash while raising ca$h. The money raised will help pay for the various PTO-sponsored programs in our school, such as Rhythm and Moves (K-5 PE), Marine Science Institute Program, and Art-in-Action. Last year we raised almost $14,000, and our goal is to beat that amount this year!

Got 30 minutes to spare on the day? We need volunteers, and there are various shifts available. We need parents to help with setup, first aid, lap markers, escorting individual classes, cleanup, and more.

This is a super-fun way to get involved, while you cheer on and watch your student complete laps. Learn more and sign up for a spot here.
