Welcome Back Clifford Dolphins!

Dolphin_Splash_logoWelcome Back Clifford Families!

Another school year is here. On behalf of the Clifford PTO, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all the new families joining Clifford this year––and we welcome back all our returning families. By working together, we can truly make a difference at Clifford.

We also welcome our new Principal, Jane Egashira.

The Clifford School PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) is made up of parents, teachers and staff. The PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the educational experiences of Clifford students.

The primary goal of the PTO is to promote our incredible Clifford community spirit and to help our children have what many consider to be the quintessential school experience. We do this by providing funding for vital programs and services (e.g. Art in Action, the annual school play/musical, P.E., Marine Science & more), academic enrichment, organizing fun events throughout the year, and supporting teachers and staff.

The PTO hopes you will be active at Clifford. We have many events planned for the year (we are currently updating the PTO Calendar). We encourage you to become involved in as many of these activities as you can. We have fun together, and the students have enjoyable, meaningful experiences as a result of your participation.

In the fall, the PTO publishes a school directory, which includes class lists, family contact information and other useful information. Many parents find this an invaluable resource for contacting classmates, friends and others parents. We encourage you to participate by sharing your information and purchasing a directory when they are printed (usually by November). If you make a donation to the PTO, you will receive a directory for free automatically.

There are many small ways to get involved at Clifford: Check this site regularly, sign up for the PTO’s newsletter now, and attend the monthly PTO meetings in the library–typically the first or second Thursday of a given month, 7PM. Stay tuned for more details as the monthly meeting date approaches! (Kids are always welcome to come with you!) Plus, check your child’s folder for fliers and other materials, and keep an eye out for posters about events around the campus! That way, you’ll find out what’s going on–and be sure to have a say in your school!

If you have any ideas, comments or suggestions, we want to hear from you.
